  • elimination of acute breath insufficiency with help of clearance of oral cavity, air passage clearing by airduct intubation or koniopuncture, artifical respiration with assistance of hand resuscitating apparatus or automatic set;
  • dressing of thoraic traumata with occlusal bandage, by puncture of big emphysema (in urgent cases);
  • application of substitute solutions p.o. and i.v. (with the exception of cases with collapsed veins);
  • dosage of analgetics p.o. or parenterally (cca 80 % of all medical losses), short and capsula blockages, infiltration of intercostal nerves;
  • prophylaxis of traumatic infection with antibiotics (p.o. and parentally) with tetanic anatoxin (regarding all medical losses with open injuries) and antitetanic globulin;

  • simple measures regarding traumata and burns of optic organum and sun blindness;
  • dosage of cardiotonics and stimulation of respiratory centre;
  • measures regarding symptoms of acute radiation illness (parenteral application of antiemetics, analeptics, dosage of vitamins);
  • measures regarding internal contamination resp. radiation dermatitis (dosage of absorbent, kalium iodid, dressing of dermal lesion);
  • measures regarding acute psychogenic reactions (pharmaceuticals parenterally resp. p.o.);
  • measures regarding contamination with chemical agents (partial decontamination, application of antidote, detoxicants, dressing of eyes, skin, dosage of absorbent, stomache lavage).

Special care

  • temporary hemostasia by means of clip, puncture, tampon suture, ligation of big vessel;
  • elimination of acute breath insufficiency by tracheotomy or koniotomy;
  • dressing of thoraic trauma by means of thoraic cavity puncture by means of aspirating, drainage and closure of penetrating injury with help of suture or puncture of big emphysema;
  • pericardium puncture;
  • application of infusion solutions connected with vein preparing;
  • measures regarding urine retention - puncture of urine bladder;
  • finishing of traumatic amputation;
  • bandage of extensive burns;
  • drainage of wounds;
  • dressing of visual organum requiring the blepharostat;

  • prophylaxis of injury infection by means of globulin dosage against gaseous gangrene.

The MED emergency department is installed in an ISO 1C container. The container is equipped with electric installation, lighting, water installation, filtration and ventilation unit, air conditioning and heating. The devices, medical material and other equipment are placed in cases and drawers.

The MED preparatory department located in the inflatable tent deployed behind the container casualty ward. Ground plan dimension is 5 300 x 5 400 mm; the height of 4 300 mm.

The MED box trailer is intended for material transport assigned to the construction of preparatory department and for power generating set of 16 kW. The trailer enables personal rest after material unloading. For that reason, folding beds, tables and seats are suspended on the sidewalls. Folding beds form an area for four lying persons or when only lower bed is folded, a bench for five sitting persons can be used.

Main source of electrical energy supply for the MED is generating set with the power of 16 kW, placed on the box trailer. If necessary, the container casualty ward could be supplied by emergency generating set of with the power of 10 kW, which is placed in the container body.

Personnel of the MED consists of 4 persons (1 physician, 2 medical men, 1 driver - power set operator). The operation of the mobile emergency department during movement is not presumed.
